All songs written, performed, recorded, and mixed by Mia Rose Malone

Death Spa is the weirder, uglier, prettier, and more complex progression of what Mia Malone began
with her previous band Pink Muscles. The majority of these songs were written and recorded in her
apartment in Capitol Hill in 2019, then COVID got in the way of any attempt at finding a live band,
and she's been refining them and writing new songs ever since.

After a grueling search, Mia finally found two wonderful band mates in Jonathan Rodriguez on drums
(Self-Deprecator, Till the Teeth), and Levi Fuller on bass (Luna Moth, Levi Fuller and the Library).
They have elevated her demo recordings to new, challenging highs in ways that constantly surprise.
They are currently working through the fifteen songs that will make up their debut full-length. They'll soon recording a single for a compilation of Washington state-based trans and non-binary musical artists that
Mia is curating and releasing through Levi's long-running Ball of Wax series. They'll be recording their
full-length at some point after that. Look for it next year on Forbidden Place.

Merci Déhà for the download code. Lots of bands use these ingredients – pretty female vocals over doomy guitars always sounds good, but usually that's where the ideas run out. That isn't the case here. Each song is packed with ideas and evolutions, genres and references it's boring to list but not at all to listen to. A pleasure to have been introduced to this. Luke
